Delete your account and data
You can ask us to delete your Valla CIS account and the personal data we hold about you, at any time and free of charge. This page explains how, and is honest about the records the law does not let us delete.
Request deletion by emailHow it works
Email us from your account address
Send a message to privacy@vallacis.co.uk from the email address on your account with "Delete my account and data" in the subject.
We confirm it is you
We verify the request so that nobody else can have your data deleted. We may ask you one or two questions to do this.
We delete and confirm
We delete your account and the personal data we are free to delete, and we tell you what was removed and what we had to keep. We respond within one month.
What we cannot delete, and why
Some records must be kept even after you close your account. We would rather tell you that up front than promise deletion we cannot perform.
- CIS, VAT and other tax records — kept for at least 6 years from the end of the tax year they relate to, because UK tax law requires it.
- Right-to-work evidence — kept for the duration of the engagement and 2 years after it ends, because the Home Office requires it for a statutory excuse.
- Our ledger and audit trail — these are append-only by design, so entries cannot be edited or deleted. Where we cannot erase, we restrict processing instead.
- Shared records — an invoice, statement or payment between you and a counterparty belongs to both of you, and each party keeps its own copy for its own tax records.
Full detail is in our Privacy Policy. If a contractor invited you to Valla, some of your onboarding records are controlled by that contractor rather than by us — our subcontractor privacy notice explains who to ask.
